The Dragon's Lair

| Aug. 2nd, 2007 12:08 am So I just finished Deathly Hallows. Yes, yes, I know I'm late. And while I have mixed feelings about the way it ended, and while the epilogue was rather incredibly shite, I do know one thing. J.K. Rowling must have a stack of notes to fill a vault in Gringotts. She didn't put nearly as much energy into explaining her world as I might have wanted her to, but she put a hell of a lot more energy, dedication, and work into her story, her characters, and her plot than I've ever put into anything. She is incredibly amazing, and I hope she takes a nice break and then writes something else fantastic, because she's a better author than I'll ever be in regards of characters. There are no words to express what a master she is, or how much I respect her. Current Mood: drained

Well how the hell was I supposed to know that mammals respire aerobically and anaerobically? Doesn't anaerobic mean without oxygen? Isn't anoxia a bad thing? *sooo confuuuuused*Poke the Dragon | |

| Apr. 30th, 2007 08:12 pm Not a good day Summation of my day:
· Two panic attacks
· A crying fit
· Screwed up my audition for a solo (fortunately I didn't really want it)
· Feel like everyone is mad at me/attacking me (they aren't, though, it's just in my head)
I did, however have I nice chat with Spades before the day went to shit.<3

| Jan. 28th, 2007 11:27 pm *glomples the wife* So, I went out today and had lunch and then mentioned that I wanted to go to this pet shop entirely devoted to birds called The Tweetery, the result of which is that I now have a new bird.
His name is Tyler and he's the sweetest thing on the face of the earth. Seriously. He seems to have settled in with almost no stress at all, which is nice and he's extremely social. He was attacked by his mother because she wanted to start nesting again and he still wanted her to take care of him, so he's missing some feathers off of his head, and almost all of the feathers on his neck. The pet shop owner said they'll all grow back, though, and even if they don't, he's so sweet that I don't really care.
Tyler won't be able to live in the dorms next year when I go to college, but I'll work something out. I'm not sure if I want to leave home anyway. I'll post pics of him once I get my hands on a functioning camera.
To my wife, I hope you had a good day at work today, and I miss you and love you.
To anyone else reading this, wow, I wasn't aware that anyone read my journal. Drop a comment and maybe we can chat sometime or something.

| Dec. 2nd, 2006 11:31 pm | What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Midland "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. | | The West | | | The Inland North | | | Boston | | | North Central | | | The Northeast | | | The South | | | Philadelphia | | What American accent do you have? It's pretty interesting that I would have a Midland accent since I have never lived anywhere but on the west coast, of course, my Dad is an Illinois farmboy, so maybe it's not so odd after all. Pretty damn fascinating meme, but that could just be me being a geek.Poke the Dragon | |

| Nov. 12th, 2006 05:14 pm Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. I could use some Supernatural icons, I moved into the fandom, but my icons are still all FMA-related.
2. If someone, somewhere, could find it in their heart to write me some Riza/Ran Fan slash, I would love them forever and always.
3. Supernatural fanfiction, or fanart featuring Sam or Dean having the other wear a leather collar. Yes I am obsessed.
4. A hand-raised cockatiel.
5. Poyo Pop Fever for the PS2.
6. Any Havoc-, or especially Havoc/Ed-related fanfiction or fanart.
Wow, my list goes up to six. I obviously have just about everything I want.

| Aug. 30th, 2006 06:00 pm Okay, so, the boy and I just broke up. Yep. Apparently it wasn't just me and we've both been trying to get up the nerve to break up for a while. It was completely mutual and we're both still friends, so I feel good!
I'm going to take a nap now, I caught something nasty over the weekend and I'm trying to sleep it off. I promise, tonight I'll post about the camp trip last weekend and littlesis's birthday today.
